Daria has a plan for Erie’s future.

Affordable, secure housing is the foundation families need to thrive. We must balance housing supply and demand while stabilizing our neighborhoods with access to housing opportunities for all.

• Take Bold, Collective Action for the Future — Erie’s Housing Crisis must be met with scale. We will build a coalition of housing agencies, organizations, and funding organizations to quickly advance bold investments into neighborhood regeneration.   

• Lift up our neighborhood groups and advocates by making direct investments in organizations working on the ground to develop quality, affordable housing for our most vulnerable populations. 

• Establish a Housing Policy Task Force – Assemble a core group of local residents, neighborhood groups, and housing experts to implement comprehensive housing and neighborhood revitalization policy reform which enables scalable, sustainable, and inclusive solutions to Erie’s Housing Crisis. 

A thriving workforce is the backbone of a thriving city. We need to create pathways for upward economic mobility by retaining and growing our local businesses, incentivizing new, innovative industry growth in our region, and investing in job training that will prepare our workforce for the high impact industries of the future.

• Cultivate centers of innovation, creativity, and knowledge exchange to enable Erie’s economy to compete on a global scale.  We will partner with universities, business leaders, community, and creative leaders to deliver unique incentives for jobs of the future and prioritize infrastructure which supports market momentum, innovation, sustainability, and creativity. 

• Reinvest in our rich and diverse talent – Our City has some of the richest talent in the world.  We will unlock the hardworking, enterprising talent in our neighborhoods by investing in accessible training and education with proven pathways to real job opportunities.  We will incentivize training in jobs of the future which position our City as an inventive, sustainable, and competitive marketplace. 

• Invest in entrepreneurs who invest in Erie – Businesses are the backbone of growth for our City, and every dollar counts.  We will connect budding entrepreneurs to the resources they need at City Hall.  We will move at the speed of business to swiftly advance through land development, assemble capital and other resources to support sustainable and innovative job growth in the City.

Today’s youth are tomorrow’s talent. We must create opportunities for civic engagement, career exploration, and innovation to support youth across the city and ensure Erie is a city where the next generation can thrive.

• Working Jointly with the City School District - Healthy cities need healthy schools. I will continue my partnership with the School District and advocate for state investment into one of our City’s most critical levers for growth.  We will move forward jointly to curate scholarship, civic engagement, and workforce development opportunities for tomorrow’s talent. 

For too long the City of Erie’s budget has been inefficient and unbalanced. It’s past time to balance the budget, improve services provided, and prioritize efficiency across city government while increasing transparency so you can see your tax dollars put to work.

• Facing the Financial Cliff - The City is on the verge of a financial crisis and must seek long-term solutions for sustainability. We must think differently about budgeting and capital planning and implement key financial controls to mitigate risk. 

• Raising the Standard of Service - We are committed to delivering nothing short of excellence.  Despite our best efforts, there is always room for improvement, and our team will strive for efficiency and transparency of all services delivered from City Government. 

• Moving at the Speed of Business - We will create an environment for growth by improving the speed of service for land development, licensing, permitting, and regulatory procedures.
